BSW conversion

This webpage shows the progress made from applying for a grant to build a new hall, procuring grants to convert the Broad Street Windows offices and workshop into Broad Street Community Hall that will temporarily be used instead of the old hall.  When the new hall has been built than we will look again at how this area will be used to benefit the community.

All change

3rd April 2018 - Demolition progress: Pleased to say all the big disconnections that make the old hall safe have been now undertaken for the Electric and Gas, still awaiting BT to relocate the telephone wires.

Thanks to the Ratcliffe Trust for the grant of  £2,000.

On Friday 12th of January 2018 it was out with the old and in with the new as we officially opened our new hall.  The conversion from Broad Street Windows to Broad Street Meeting Hall is tremendous.  The new space was well received by Hall Users and ex-workers alike.

The plans to build the new hall are in progress.  We expect to start the work on the new hall in January 2019.

Photographs of Official Opening

On Saturday 1st July, we held our open day event to let the committee, hall users and community have a look around our new conversion.  Alan and Martin have worked wonders to create an outdoor space indoors.  it is really good and we cannot wait for it to officially open.  As soon as that happens we can start the demolition work on the old hall.  We are really looking forward to working with the hall community to create a great new hall atmosphere.
